The new knobs are not quite identical to those they replace, but all functions and numbers are the same and in the same positions on the knobs and the colors are compatible - and the new knobs fit the switch stems perfectly. Eugene F Santa Fe , NM January 21, 2017 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL RM778PX5 Oven control knob popped off and disappeared had to use pliers to turn oven on and off Shopped around for a knob but there never were dimensions so I just went for the knob that looked closest...well it was just a few mm too big: since the knob was metal I took a large (metal) shears and trimmed the knob to fit...then my Dremel to enlarge the fit...it works...the closest to this knob (under $10.00) was one for $45.00...one needs to be nuts to pay $45.00 for a knob....imn French we call this bricolage, the best way to do repairs, make-do with what is available.
