How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018386 / WPW10275768 Door Latch

Replaced the latch. Took ten minutes. I watched these guys video on how to do it. Part came next day from ordering. Wasn't expecting that soon. Good company to buy from. Thank you. 

I ordered a door latch from appliancepartspros.com after viewing the the video for the replacement of the defective part.. The video was very useful in the parts replacement. The repair part fixed the latch problem and the dish washer tested good. 

Replaced the door latch 

Replaced the door latch assembly. 

Opened inside panel of dishwasher door. Lifted out part that needed replacement. While reassembling, discovered that handle was the part that was actually broken. Handles are no longer stocked. Ordered door latch assembly with handle, about the same price, installed it and returned the other part. Anyone having this problem with the dishwasher not opening should order the assembly with the handle. Just about the same price and saves the cost of shipping back the wrong part. Also, watch out for the connectors on the two cables that connect to the switches on the handle. They are very tight. 

Ordered a New latch which included both switches, plus it is a part that wears from use. Got the part watched the video, took the 10 screws out unplugged the part and install the new item. Plugged everything back in put the screws back and in 15 minutes I was Done. 

Ordered a new Latch from you, the next day it came in the mail, we were back in business :) Thanks 

My wife found out from sears what the name of the part was, and after being quoted over $150 in the visit and repair cost she asked me to take a look at it. I found the problem and figured out how to fix it. so I went onto sears.com and compared their price for the part with several other sites. I found AppliancePartsPros.com to be the cheapest price and for what seemed to be the same part. They also said that it would ship the following day and I could expect the part within two days. I ordered and received the part in the time frame that was promised, shipping was reasonable, I was able to repair my dishwasher and make my wife happy. Couldn't ask for more. Thank You guys, I was a bit skeptical at first but would recommend them with my experience.
