How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018386 / WPW10275768 Door Latch

I tried cleaning the gasket, no luck, noticed the noise seemed louder, pushed on the door. It got quieter. so I leaned a chair on the door, no leak! I went online and googled for a solution. I found the door latch on AppliancePartsPros.com I checked out prices on other websites, decided this was the best deal. I went with standard shipping, got the part 2 days later. It was quick easy fix with a torx bit and some pliers. No more leaks!!. 

Removed screws from door, pulled out old latch replaced with new one and now works great. 

Bought new door latch and installed. No prolems. 

This is the internet at its best! I was able to pull up the parts list for my Jenn Air dishwasher, find the latch piece, watch a video that told me how to replace the part, pay $30 and have the part about three days later. 10 years ago this would have been two visits from the repair person, two afternoons where I had to wait at home and at least $300. Instead I did it on my own in about 10 minutes. Amazing. 

After deciding the $225 for a repair tech to come and fix the latch sounded a bit high, I figured I'd look into doing it myself. I found the how-to video from AppliancePartsPros, and decided that I'd do it myself. I ordered the part, and as soon as it arrived I started the fix. 6 minutes start to finish and it's as good as new. I couldn't be happier. This is the first review I've ever done on anything, but it is warranted. $35 including shipping was better than $225.

Watched a video from this website to see how to do it. Needed a torx wrench to get the screws out along the perimeter. 

Checked internet Ordered part took 2 days to get and 5 mins to fix 

I watched the video,it showed how to take the door apart and what tools were needed. I ordered the part that was needed.It only took ten minutes to repair, my dishwasher now works perfect.
