How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6832601 / W11307244 Lid Lock Assembly

Replaced the lid lock switch assembly. Worked great. 

By the time the Serviceman came out to fix my washer the Transmission was going out. I bought a new washer and returned the part I ordered. 

I tried ordering just the Lid Lock Strike and changing that out but it was not the problem. I came back to this site & ordered the Lid Lock Assembly. I watched the video provided on the same page as the part. I ordered how to open the washer’s top, back & main part of the washer but ours was a used washer & someone had previously fixed it, losing some of the screws & jamming the back piece under a metal lip preventing me (53-year-old woman with arthritis) from opening the back panel! I watched another video to see how to open the top where the dials & the power board are located & by slipping a putty knife between the top panel & main washer, used a few choice words (no, they weren’t AbraCadabra!) I finally got access! I’m so thrilled I got the washer running again!! Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com! BTW- I got the parts so fast that I only had a few day's worths of laundry to wash! Yay!!! 

We replaced the Lid Lock Assembly and went through a sequence to clear the code. 

Had some help with contacting the Pros from this site and they helped narrow down the problem based on things I had already tested. Was able to order the correct part and follow along with the install video which was a great step by step process! Washer is fixed and only money I spent was for the replacement part!! The hardest part was the beginning diagnostics trying to figure out the problem. 

Checked online about the problem. AppliancePartsPros.com were the most helpful and had the correct part I needed in stock, shipped the same day I ordered, and received the part in 2 days. The price and service were great! THANK YOU. 

Swapped the controller into self-diagnostic, then determined that the door switch was faulty. Ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com and returned when got the new part. 

Watched and followed the instruction video and had the washer going in less than an hour. Saved over 150 bucks. Thanks, folks
