How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008012 / WP33002970 Lint Filter

I bought a new part, perfect fit 

Found replacement filter on google Maytag repair information site 

Removed the front door assembly drilled out old rivets and installed new bearings and rivets. Installed new drum belt 

Was able to order the exact part on this old dryer for a good price and received it in a very short time. Also purchased some brushes that were on sale and they are also a good buy. 

I ordered a new lint trap and a new silverware basket 

Used part bought from Appliance parts to replace 

Ordered new part with fingers crossed. My dryer is old, and I was doubtful there was a new filter that would fit 

Wish I'd looked at your video clips earlier. I kept changing belts but that didn't fix it, but changing. The drum rollers did. Now our old drier hums along again. Spent $60 Saved at least $300 for a tech to come out. Job took maybe 1 hour? Note - check back of driers for a small access panel right behind the pulleys. Makes it much easier to change belt this way as you can see what you are doing. 

The new one popped right in - problem solved! The best part was that it arrived so quickly. 

I looked up the part on line and ordered it. received within a few days.. Problem solved.
