How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019449 / WPW10320510 Lower Spray Arm

Discovered stripped threads on lower spray arm and replaced it with a new one. Also replaced spray arm seal,spray arm bearing,spinner kit,and food chopper. (chopper was clogged) Now it works like new!

Replaced spray arm. 

NOT AS SIMPLE AS VIDIO SHOWED 

At first I only purchased the lower spray arm hub, but later realized that the spray arm itself was damaged too. I added the spray arm bearing just in case it was missing or damaged. Although it didn’t appear to be a difficult repair I have multiple sclerosis and have difficulty kneeling so my son came over to do the repairs. He watched the video on the Appliance Parts Pros site and was able to complete the repairs in less than 15 minutes. The hardest part was getting the spray arm back on in the right position. 

The discharge hose on the side of dishwasher was plugged. But in order to find that out I took apart the inside of dishwasher and had to clean everything what a mess. Some parts I could not get totally cleaned and two parts I broke but was able to order 

Went on YouTube to learn how to clean the filter. Watched three helpful videos for tips. It was pretty easy. You can’t imagine how nasty and clogged the filter was. With some old toothbrushes and a turkey baster I was able to clean everything and put it back together. 

Figured out the groan came from wobbly lower spray arm. Watched the video, bought the parts, watched the video again when they arrived and had it repaired in minutes. Couldn’t have been easier. 

Replaced 5 worn parts, 1to go 

Very simple procedure but very difficult to do. No directions were included. We were only able to fix it when we googled the procedure.
