How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6012244 / WP8268655 Upper Dishrack Wheel

We checked the parts manuel for a part number and were pleasantly surprised to find it still available as this dishwasher is over 15 years old. We watched the repair video before purchasing and decided we could do the repair ourselves. The video recommended taking the shelf completely out, and turning it upside down to install. We were pretty sure we could just leave it in to install. Boy were we wrong! It would have been very frustrating if we would have. Thanks for making that video for us repair challenged folks. 

Found a Youtube video and followed the instructions. Return of the wrong part was a little confusing, but we did get the job done. Waiting for confirmation of your receipt of the returned part, which I am confident will happen, and a refund will be made. was charged a return fee and shipping, but it all seemed reasonable. 

I'm not much of a handyman, but an internet search turned up AppliancePartsPros.com. I found the part and ordered it. I did not pay extra for next day delivery, but it arrived next day anyway. Fortunately, APP had a video showing exactly how to do the repair. Without the video, I would have most certainly messed it up. Fix was done in about 15 minutes total time and everything is great now. 

We ordered the wheel and it was very easy to fix. We watched the video that helped us know what we needed to do.

This part was a direct replacement. Snap the end cover off the track to remove the roller. Rotate hanger/height adjuster to remove it. Attach the new part to the upper tray where you want it and slide the roller into the track, put the end cap back on. Done. Took literally 2 minutes. 

Removed the slide clips on the front, pulled out the basket. Slipped the broken rollers off, they almost fell off on their own. I am slightly dyslexic so I had to try a couple of times to position the replacements correctly, but they clipped right on once they were faced the right direction. Placed basket back into slides and secured the clips. Maybe10 minutes max for the entire process. 

I ordered 2 new ones from AppliancePartsPros.com, they were just the right part, I watched a video that AppliancePartsPros had showing just how to change out the parts, Big Help!! Was nothing to fix,Easy 

I followed the video and except for missing details as to where to place the new wheel assembly. --things went very well. The parts came 1 day after I ordered them, which is incredible. Very pleased with the service.
