How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013836 / WP9742945 Spray Arm Retainer

Ordered new part and pulled or unscrewed part that broke off and screwed new one on. And I did it, not my husband.

Very easy! I also got the nylon washer that goes around opening for the nut. Placed that first and twisted in nut! Very pleased with fast delivery, received the parts the day after I ordered them!

Replaced retainer and bushing. 

Replaced ring bearing, nylon radial bearing, and retainer screw 

I used a 1/2” wood chisel to turn out the broken shaft since there was no way pliers would work. Just insert the wood chisel into the hollow screw that is stuck in the shaft and apply a little side torque - the point will grab the plastic and the broken screw will turn out easily. 

Replaced spray arm retainer.
