I unplugged the dryer, removed one screw from each end of the control panel, flipped it over to access start switch connection, removed one connector and used a multimeter to verify the switch showed continuity in both the "on" and "off" positions. Ordered the new switch, it arrived within 48 hours.
With machine unplugged and control panel in a serviceable position, I rotated the old switch roughly 90° - counter clockwise I think, and removed it (the switch has a square shape that needs to be lined up to a similar cut-out in the panel before it can be removed). Removed two electrical leads from switch contacts, connected the new switch, replaced it in the control panel (line up the square parts, rotate it to locked position), put the control panel back in place, replaced the two screws, plugged the machine back in, verified machine wouldn't start until switch was pressed, pushed the dryer back into place... done. Estimated time to access the old switch, replace with new part, reassemble control panel, plug machine back in, function test and push machine back into place - about 5 minutes.
