How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015817 / WPW10151713 Refrigerator Door Flipper Mullion (Center Rail)

Took two minutes to fix. Very easy. 

We ordered the replacement part from AppliancePartsPros.com - it was the best price we could find on the part, but we were a little concerned that it may take several days to get here. Meanwhile, our food was spoiling and electric bill was ticking because we couldn't keep the doors shut properly. Much to our great pleasure, the part shipped almost immediately and arrived 1 day later! We will definitely be ordering parts from here next time. It was a great experience! 

Ordered a new mullion rail and replaced the broken one with the new one. 

Was very easy, had to unscrew 1 lag bolt and lift up to disconnect the sliding locks. Disconnected the wire for what i assume was the water button, then just reconnected the new rail, slid it down on the new locks, and tightened the screw back in. works great, perfect fit, and was very very easy to fix. Thank you Appliance Parts. If i had a service person come out it would have been 200$ easy, just for one screw. Shipping was as promised, ordered on a Saturday, so it arrived Wednesday, (2 business days) perfect and on point. Definitely recommend to anyone able to DIY. 

Didn't know what to call the little clip at the top of the mullion (didn't even know it was called a mullion!) Called AppliancePartsPros.com and spoke with a customer service rep who guided me to a blown up pic of all the parts. I got back with her and explained what I thought the problem was after looking at the diagram and she told me what I needed. I ordered through PayPal and my part was here in two days! Yay. Good job guys! 

Ordered new mulln. Inspected install of mulln on door, removed on small lag screw and slid old mulln off door. Unplugged mulln and removed. Reversed these steps, and new mlln is in place, work as per factory new. 

Replaced with new part 

Received new flapper in 3-4 days. Had new flapper door installed within 5 minutes. 

Removed the one screw holding the piece in place and slid the unit up and over the retainers. Unplugged the electrical leads and installed the new one in the reversed order. Simple and easy five minute replacement. 

I replaced the rail mulin on the door and the part that it slides into.it works beautifully.
