How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013603 / WP902894 Dishwasher Door Gasket

Replaced bad parts. 

I ordered the seal and deflectors, watched the video on how to install the seal and now I have no more leaks.I have bought several parts from Appliance Parts Pros and have never had a problem. 

Replaced gasket. 

I first ordered a replacement gasket from Amazon.com because it was less than half the price with free 2-day shipping. But when I received that gasket, it was much too thick for my dishwasher even though the part number was correct. It made it impossible to latch the dishwasher. I then ordered the gasket from AppliancePartsPro.com. Their gasket fit perfectly. The installation was very easy, just pull off the old one and push in the new one.

Replaced door gasket which did not require any tools. Help video was not model specific and did not resemble my dishwasher model. The website picture of the replacement gasket appeared correct, after an on-line chat with customer service, I ordered the part and received it the next day which happened to be a Saturday. My Maytag dishwasher is listed under Whirlpool parts.The old gasket simply slid out and the new one tucked in. The dishwasher door fit much tighter after installing the new gasket. I'm surprised the leak wasn't worse. 

Close inspection led me to believe that the door seal had been compromised. After watching the video (which is of a unit the has the seal mounted on the door itself, and NOT the front of the box) I felt this project could be easily accomplished. All I needed was an tool to get the old seal unseated (a thin straight blade screwdriver) and a blunt rounded tool to seat the new one (i used the back end of an ordinary table knife). Took more time to find the tools than to do the job. 

My Maytag dishwasher was leaking at both bottom corners of the door. Common sence told me the door gasket had to be replaced. I called appliance parts pros.com and ordered the gasket which they had in stock. The girl that took my order was very informative and helpful. The part arrived the next day and took les than 2 minutes to install. Very simple project with great results. It's a pleasure to call a company and have a employee answer and speaks English.
