How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5737110 / W10612022 Dryer Drum Felt Seal

Found the parts for the Kenmore and watched the video--made the repair and my wife said it's like new. I had previously set it aside for the scrapyard. That would have been a costly mistake...a new unit would be between $400.00-$600.00?. Instead I spent around $55.00 bucks at AppliancePartsPros. 

Ordered replacement seal. 4 screws to remove open the top and remove the front. Remove tension from the belt and remove the drum. Removing the old glue gasket is the most time consuming part. I used a dremel tool with a wire wheel, (medium speed). It took the glue off and left the paint. When putting the new felt seal on use clamps or clothes pins to hold it in place. Also it's easier to stretch it around the drum first then pull the "flap" over to the inside of the drum. Trying to tuck it around didn't work for me. 

Well, since I’ve started fixing these appliances for myself, I’ve been using the repair videos produced by you guys as guides. I haven’t found one yet that hasn’t been absolutely spot on. My 10 year old washer and dryer just keep going. 

It is easy. Simply follow the videos provided. No problem. 

Replaced with new seal.

First of all , I tore it down to look at it internally to see what it might need as it was very noisy and drying time was getting to be a very lengthy process . I ordered the parts that appeared to be worn out and replaced them . I still may need to order another part or two but after replacing the parts that I ordered , the dryer is operating 100% better . 

Watched video. Installed new seals. Dryer working like new now. Super easy. Longest time was letting glue dry. 

Replaced the dryer seals it was very easy dryer works much better now. 

Dryer was squeaking, it's 15 yrs old. Went on Appliance Parts Pros, for information on the causes of the squeaking. The causes listed were belt, rollers & or Idler pulley. I took the dryer apart, not very hard but you need space to remove the front panel & drum. Inspected the belt, rollers, Idler pulley & Felt Drum seal, all needed replacement. Ordered the parts from App. Parts Pro, they came within 3 days, with instructions on how to replace these items. AppliancePartsPro, made this repair, simple, with straight forward information & instructions. The dryer is working like brand new, BUT, MOST IMPORTANT, WIFEY IS HAPPY, so I'm happy. Thanks
