How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5737110 / W10612022 Dryer Drum Felt Seal

Replaced rear seal, support rollers and front bearing ring. 

Followed directions supplied. 

We noticed a large pile of white "dust" under our 12 year old Maytag washer. It's been an absolute work horse, but lately it had been very off balance even with the lightest of loads. I was almost ready to throw the machine out and then I remembered the advice given by this website for a prior repair. I replaced the suspension springs and snubber ring. We cant even tell its on the spin cycle any more! Two sets of hands really makes the job go by faster. Some of the suspension springs are hard to pull and weird angles. A friendly push from another hand or angling the drum helps on install.

Followed the instructions and a YouTube how-to video. Took 1 hour 

Replaced the seal. 

New drum seals.

I ordered a complete dryer repair kit and a felt drum seal, replacing the idler pulley, drum wheels, drum belt and felt drum seal. The instruction videos were very helpful and the parts easy to order and received them quickly as promised. Thank you very much for your help and service! 

Cleaned cabinet interior and replaced Drum Support Roller. While I was working on the 18 year old drier, I replaced the Rear Felt Drum Seal, the Front Felt Gasket and the Front Bearing Ring. The drier is now nearly silent. The only thing that took time was cleaning the drum and attaching the Rear Felt Drum Seal as I wanted to give the glue time to set.
