How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5737110 / W10612022 Dryer Drum Felt Seal

The rear drum seal was well worn out. I replaced with a new seal and because it is an older dryer, I also replaced the rear rollers and drive belt. Now it runs like a new one! The repair videos were quite helpful as well! 

Replaced front and rear felt seals along with the rollers. 

Replace Drum Felt, Rollers 

Purchased new parts from AppliancePartsPros.com then replaced them. 

Pulled the drum from the dryer. Cleaned old glue off with carb and choke cleaner and a rag. Used wooden close pins to hold on felt seal then applied glue on outside of the drum under the new seal. 

Removed drum seal and replaced it. Removed drum wheels and replaced them. Work involved disconnecting belt and idler pulley and removing drum to get access to wheels and removing old drum seal and gluing on new seal.

Replaced drum belt, two drum wheels and felt on drum. Glue was messy for felt, but got through it well. 

Replaced the clutch. The step by step video was extremely helpful! He made it look so easy. My washing machine is very old and some of the bolts were difficult to remove but I was able to replace the clutch and everything works! 

Found this site, did some research, then found that the felt seal on the back was pretty much toast. This allowed clothes to get pinched in-between the spinning drum and stationary frame, which was leaving the marks. Ordered the seal, replaced it in about 30-45 minutes, and everything has been great since!
