How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5737110 / W10612022 Dryer Drum Felt Seal

I followed the youtube video, which was very detailed and short. I also ordered a belt which I'm glad I did because the one on the drum started coming apart. 

I ordered the felt drum seal through this site, and also ordered the support rollers as my dryer was making quite a bit of noise. When I tore it apart I noticed right away that one of the rollers had not been rolling and had a flat spot worn right down to the plastic wheel. Replacing everything was pretty straight forward. The felt liner was a challenge and as previously stated by others, the best way was to glue a bit at a time and add clamps as you work your way around the barrel. The information on this site was extremely helpful! 

Got parts. 

Removed and replaced the felt seal for the drum. 

Belt was broken. Decided to replaced felt and rollers and idler since I was inside. The only trouble was a little to much glue on my fingers (that stuff is sticky!!) Dryer runs great! Good luck! 

Ordered a new seal and followed the directions on the repair video. My repair was successful mainly due to the excellent repair video instructions. 

This was my first experience with AppliancePartsPros.com. Parts arrived next day during the pandemic. A++. I have booked marked site and will use this company again. I have some skills and don't mind tinkering. It is always the small things that seem to give me a hard time. In this job the triangular nylon clips to hold the rollers in place were a challenge to remove and install; replacing the front and holding the drum in place would probably be much easier with a second set of hands; and getting the rear felt seal properly aligned and in place on reassemble was tricky. I had to manually turn the drum while holding front of dryer in place and tucking the felt seal in properly. Again two more hands would have been smart. Take pictures before taking apart for things like the tensioner pulley and seating of drum front and rear. Overall this was not a bad project and AppliancePartsPros was great. I will recommend . 

Removed the front of the dryer, took off the belt and removed the drum , used a pipe wrench to free up the idler pulley, sanded off the pulley post, and replaced pulley. While I was at it, I replaced the felt drum seal. By the way, the adhesive that comes with it is super, I'm keeping it to use on other things. If you don't know how to do these repairs, your wedsite has videos to show you how.
