How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015486 / WPW10131825 Oven Temperature Sensor

REPLACED THERMAL FUSE 

The error codes indicated that I might have a problem with the Oven Sensor or other parts in the circuit. I ordered the Temp Sensor about 12 noon Friday it was shipped that day and I received it the next day. Continued research on line while I was waiting for the part and found a test for the sensor. I removed it and it tested good. I called APP's tech support and they suggested that I clean the connections in the circuit. I did that and my oven passed a trial run with no problems. I will keep the sensor for a few more weeks incase the problem comes back and if no problems show up I can return the part. Theses are great people to do business with. It's like having an uncle in the parts business. 

After reading reviews, I determined this is a common problem with Whirlpool wall ovens. I replaced the thermal sensor and the thermostat just to make sure. Looks like all I needed was the sensor. $30 is much cheaper than a wall oven replace. It was quite simple to replace, when the oven is out of the cabinet. I am the person that installed the oven and it and was quite easy to remove. I am very thankful I found this site. They had parts in stock and shipped right away. I received the parts in 3 days. 

I replaced the oven temperature sensor. Since this is a double wall oven, it is very important to secure the wiring harness before you disconnect the old sensor. This is an important step if you want to avoid the headache of removing the oven from the wall to retrieve a harness that has slipped through the opening inside the oven. Very simple fix, removed oven unit from the wall and changed out the sensor. Turned the power back on and that was it. Your video on replacing this sensor was helpful since it showed me what I was going to need to do ahead of time. 

Replaced the temp sensor. 

Thanksgiving day 2018 my wife and I were in the process of fixing “Turkey Day” for our entire family when she said the house doesn’t smell of baking turkey. We inspected the bird which had been cooking for three hours at 325 degrees, we thought. The true temp was 224 degrees and our Whirlpool electric wall oven was failing. We turned the oven off and on and suddenly, receiving the E2 - F3 errors, our oven was in the cleaning mode, oh no! Somehow we managed to turn it on and off multiple times and the cleaning mode ended but we had to guess the temp setting because the oven temp was not trust worthy and somehow we guessed right and Thanksgiving lunch was snapped from the grip of tragedy and placed on the wings of victory, by some luck or other power... I got on the internet went directly to AppliancePartsPro.com found the temp sensor replacement and the part arrrived in lesss than two days. It took about ten minutes to install that included the unsnapping of an electrical connection and removing and replacing the old sensor with two philips head screws. Replaced both heating elements and the temperature sensor. 

Temperature sensor required removal of two screws from inside back oven panel. I then carefully pulled sensor away so that it's connector was exposed and unplugged it. Install of new sensor was reverse of removal. To replace the power board I removed sides, front control panel, rear upper panel,and glass surface hold downs. I then removed glass cooktop and right front burner to gain access to power board. I unplugged all connectors and unscrewed power board. Install of new board was reverse of removal. Oven works like a new one again!
