Mike W Batavia , IL March 20, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7600AWW A scretching when the brake would be applied and the drum would come to a stop I replaced the: brake stator, rotor, and snubber ring. I did need to remove the stator which allowed the spring to decompress. I used 2 C-clamps to control the force when it was removed. To re-secure all the components I stood on the stator to compress the 200lbs spring until the screws could take the load safely. The entire thing took about an hour to slowly go through everything. Thomas A Raleigh , NC June 13, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer MAVT446AWW Drum rotating and squeaking during agitation and at the end of the spin cycle I replaced the brake rotor and brake stator. Since these parts are integral to the snubber ring, I replaced it too. Though I'm a master auto mechanic, I've never worked on a washing machine before. But now that I'm retired, I've got the time and wanted to save the labor cost. So, I just watched the video on YouTube on the snubber replacement, which took me step by step for that. I added a few steps to the whole process to get the brake rotor out. One suggestion I have for others is to just take the transmission pulley off. It makes the whole job much less frustrating and adds less than a minute. I know I save a good 20 minutes of frustration by removing the pulley. The parts I ordered fit perfectly!! What a great experience. I just wish my wife was a bit more appreciative. Of course, she wanted a new machine! I told her it was like new!! Hahahahaha! Jeff S Bradenton , FL January 02, 2019 Maytag washer was making a squeaking noise during the agitation cycle and when it stopped it squeaked louder I took the machine apart and installed a new brake rotor , Brake stator and a snubber ring, after the install the machine works great and no more squeaking. I will say one thing about AppliancePartsPros.com that when I first received the order the brake rotor was new in the sealed bag but the brake material wasn't attached to it, customer service was helpful and sent me a new part the next day. I will use this company again. Read More... 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Wrench Set

Nakia Z Lincoln Park , NJ January 20, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer PAV3240AWW Violently banging and rocking off balance into the center of room After the horrible reviews on HE washers and everyone lamenting that they should have just researched parts to fix their 17 year old washers that had been been wonderful machines, I did just that. It was a 3 day mission against time as my husband was about to buy a new washer and simply wanted me to pick one I would be happy with. I cannot be thankful enough for my intuition gnawing endlessly at me enough to find all the videos from Appliance Parts Pros AND all you do-it-yourselfers who shared your input as to what you purchased to fix your washer back to brand new!!!! So yes my Maytag jumped and banged around so hard it would be in the middle of the room nearly disengaging off the wall. Upon seeing how simple the inside of a washer is, I was ecstatic to bring my findings back to my husband to convince him I absolutely did NOT want to waste $800 on an HE washer that no one seems to be happy with. Far too many cons outweigh any pros. Just replaced my snubber ring, brake stator, springs and drive belt. Ran washes. I am flipping cartwheels like brand spanking new! Thank you!!! Fifty stars from me! Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
