How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4411122 / W10247710 Suspension Spring Kit

I used the suspension spring kit and ring tub replacement to repair the out of balance tub. The ring had been damaged from the impacts with the interior walls. The whole repair took less than 30min. On my model I had enough room to replace the ring tub without removing the appliance cabinet. 

I checked the level and it was okay. Decided to get a suspension spring kit. Saw one on Amazon and it said it was a direct part. After they were installed, it became worse. I ordered a hub kit for the tub. Although it was worn slightly, I installed a new basket hub purchased from here. It did not repair the problem. I flipped it over and checked the bolts on the rotor. I read where someone else had the same problem after installing after market parts. I immediately ordered the OEM. After I removed the Amazon parts and compared to the OEM, I saw the diference. Being a mechanic and an Engineer, I should have known better. The junk was only one quarter the price of OEM but was worth it. I blame this on the wife who convinced me to get the cheap even though I knew better from experience. This one is my bad. Lesson? Stick with OEM.

Ordered and installed a new suspension spring kit, which took about two hours with no experience. The washer works great now. Really appreciated the video for guidance and other people's reviews. 

We replaced the suspension rods. They had not been removed for 12 years and no way as easy to remove as the demo showed. vise grips would be better than pliers which I didn't have. If you have to use both hands to install the new rods like I did, have a helper.

Looked on line and found that it was the support rods for the tub - replaced them in about 45 minutes. I ordered the parts on a Sunday and they arrived by Wednesday - quick turnaround 

Replaced my suspension rods and rod bearing, super easy to replace. Did it by myself. Took about 30 minutes. Couldn't believe how my washer performed once I replaced the suspension rods. The washer runs excellent again.
