How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013467 / WP8573713 Thermal Cut Off

Replaced the Thermal Cut Off 

The thermal cutoff showed no continuity so it had to be replaced. Based on other comments here, I also replaced the thermostat since that may have been the cause of the thermal cutoff failing. The video provided here by Appliance Parts Pros was invaluable in helping me take apart the dryer and locating the bad parts. The video showed my exact dryer, how to take it apart, and how to test and replace the parts. Awesome! 

Purchased 4 electric parts. Igniter, coil, fuses. Replaced all Since I had to take it apart. Worked. No more issues. Shipping was delayed due to FedEx. They sent me another Shipment overnight. Recommend highly 

After conversations with Appliancepros the first thing I tried was the gas valves so I replaced them. Didn't help.. Another call to appliancepros and discussed other options including replace thermal cut off valve and just to make sure I also replaced the Thrmst-F . That fixed the problem. Which one was bad I am not sure ,it could have been both but, bottom line it is fixed and seems to be drying better than before. 

I replace the igniter and the thermo sensor. Not the easiest repair as it required taking the drum out of the unit to reach. With the help of the videos though I was able to do it and we are back in business.... Fantastic website and service! 

Checked them out with mutimeter. 

I ordered the parts around 3pm one day and they were here at 10:00 am the next day so we got it back together and running that day!!!! 

This part resolved our issue. It was easy to install myself and I can only imagine how much money it saved me in service calls and labor. 

Ordered the part that was broken and it arrived the very next day and my husband spent about 20 minutes putting the new part in and now the drier is putting out the heat it needs. 

Replaced them, it was a piece of cake, the repair video made it very clear how to do it. An ohm meter and the numberes from the repaiir guide that was in the cover of the dryer made diagnosis easy. Just remember to unplug! Im a doctor not an electrician so anyone can do this.
