How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4093621 / 74004053 Top Burner Spark Igniter

I ordered two igniters hoping to get the same exact part. I got exactly what I ordered. thank you very much. also delivery was less than two day's. 

I replaced the spark igniter and the problem was solved. The old spark igniter had a crack in the ceramic. Removal was just a couple screws. Very easy fix. 

I bought new parts from AppliancePartsPros.com and had the parts here before I knew it. I had everything installed and working within 30 minutes. I watched the installation videos the day before and was confident I could make the repairs 

I got the parts NEXT DAY! 4 screws & 4 slide on terminals for both burners. Less than 10 minutes total. I love when a plan works out! 

Removed burners and install new spark igniters, very easy to install 2 screws holding in place under the burners. 

First and foremost I trouble shot center burner igniter issue, first switching wires from piezo igniter, then moving igniter from rear left burner to center burner. it worked in center burner location. I also had noticed the porcelain surrounding appeared to be damaged. when new part arrived, I immediately installed new igniter with the required 2 Phillips screws, attached piezo wire and presto the new igniter worked. 

Very easily turned the head of the burner to remove from stovetop. Disconnected the two wires (might need pliers to help pull them off), unscrewed the harness and removed igniter. Inserted new igniter and reversed the steps to reinstall. 

Replc'd ignitor. 

I looked up the owner's manual and the manufacturer's web site for the parts list, found the part, then Googled it. Bought it from this site. It arrived 2 days later. I disconnected the leads to the old igniter, unscrewed it and replaced it with the new one. Cleaned the burner while I had it off the stove. Burner lights now. 

Removed about eight small screws to access igniter. Removed two small screws to remove igniter and replace with new one.
