How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6021552 / WPW10448874 Compressor Start Device

Changed the starter and compactor ran like new 

I replaced the capacitor and Start-Dev switch. Thanks to Appliance parts Pro, and the video on how to do the job, it was an easy and inexpensive fix. I really thought that I was going to have to replace the entire refrigerator. I'm so glad I found AppliancePartsPro. 

Replaced relay 

I replaced compressor start relay and run compactor. 

Replaced needed parts 

Pulled the capacitor and relay and obviously both were fried. Called in for the parts and the rep was extremely knowledgeable about the unit and what to look for if the unit failed to start up. Fortunately I was able to fix it myself 

Unplugged fridge, slid out from the wall, removed the metal cover to access the compressor tank. Remove the metal wire bracket holding the Compressor Start Device to the compressor. Pulled off the old Compressor Start Device and disconnected the wire harness. I connected the wire harness and slid the new Run Capacitor onto the new Compressor Start Device, plugged it into the compressor. Tested before putting the retaining wire and back panel on. Fridge ran perfectly. 

Replaced the Compressor Start Device. 

Replaced starter relay. 

Replaced start relay on capacitor.
