How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6284346 / W11165546 Water Inlet Valve

Ordered new fill valve. 

Quote from the "Authorized Maytag repairman" $650.00 plus house call, to get quote of $100. Common sense and a $85.00 part and shipping cost. Combined with a quarter inch nut driver, replaced the solenoid valve assembly (38 minutes later). Solved! Should we even bother with the authorized personnel? No thanks to Maytag! But a Big Thank You to your company! Excellent service and support documentation. 

We ordered the replacement valve body, looked online for how to open the upper rear of the washer, installed the new valve body and put it back together. not listed on the tool list is the putty knife we needed to un-clip the rear of the console on the machine.. 

I spent a lot of time online (YouTube) until I figured out what the code was (LF means Long or Slow Fill) so I figured out it wasn't the hoses, but the fill valve was stuck. I ordered a new one. It arrived really quickly, well packed and installed easily. $80 for a part and a little time doing research verses $300-400 to call someone in and have them do the same thing. I highly recommend these folks for parts. 

Replaced the water inlet valve. 

I investigated what part was failing and I ordered from AppliancePartsPros. I replaced it and that's it. Like new. 

Removed cover and replace the unit. I also replaced water hoses. 

Put screens in washer inlet hose and changed inlet valve 

Machine was leaking. Replaced part. Works great 

Installed a new water valve.
