How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005779 / WP21001932 Washer Water Inlet Valve

Ordered a new valve, received it the next morning, installed it before lunch. Problem solved! 

Changed the water inlet valve assembly and all is work once more. :-) Easy to change. 

Ordered the correct part from Appliance Parts, which arrived very quickly. A friend installed the new water inlet valve, and the machine works like new! 

I shut off the water supply to the washer. unplugged the cord. i then removed the cold and hot water hoses on the back. i took the top of the washer loose, and lifted it. i propped the lid up, so it wouldnt fall back. i took the small hose loose from the valve. took the electrical connectors off of valve, remembering where the wires go. i took screw holding valve off. then i replaced the valve with the new one and reversed the process. 

I went to sears and they took me to their computer to order a new washer to be delivered the following Thursday all for $850.00 plus tax. I told them if I had to order a new machine on line I would go Home and do it without their help. I went to Home Depot and they had 1 like size on the floor and they wouldn't let me have their floor model, so I went home and found AppliancePartsPros web sight late on Christmas Eve, and called the Number provided, not believing anyone would answer on Christmas Eve. I told the man whom answered that the washer ran over, and he told me what I needed. I ordered a new intake valve on line and installed it 41/2 days later( including Christmas Eve, and Christmas on top of Long weekend) and installed it on Tuesday afternoon, all for $60.00 and change. Replaced the water inlet valve. 

Ordered the Water Inlet Valve Assembly for my washer model, watched the video, made the repair without any problems in 15 minutes. Now the washer fills with hot and cold water like it was new. Video was a great help to me as I did not know how to open the top of the washer. I had no idea there are two latches that are tripped with a 2" putty knife to open the top of the washer. 

Got with ya'll and had the part in hand in 3 days. "Amazing" Then I fixed-replaced the part as shown in your videos. 30 minutes later we did a load of clothes. Saved bunches and learned bunches. Thanks Bunches...John Uhde.... Sue's Hubby

With the assistance of the how to videos, the fix took about 20 minutes. No issues and part fit perfect.
