How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005779 / WP21001932 Water Inlet Valve Assembly

Replaced stuck open water inlet valve and installed new hoses as they had not been done for awhile. repair was quite simple and parts fit great 

Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. 

Removed and replaced with new one. Took 15 minutes. 

We ordered one-piece hot and cold water inlet valve from AppliancePartPros via web and it arrived promptly. I watched a video on Youtube (from "someone") which showed exactly how to replace it on that make of washer. I was able to do it myself in about an hour, and being 64, I'm slow. 

After visiting your web site, I found the help diagnosing my problem to be a defective water valve on the washer itself. I ordered the valve from Appliance parts pro and installed the valve. Problem fixed. I found the repair video very helpful . I will definitely order from appliance parts pros for any needed repair problems in the future. 

Replaced with new water inlet valve 

Replaced water inlet valve. 

This was an easy fix. First, unplug the washer, turn off the water, and disconnect the water lines. Pull up on the front of the washer lid to open the top. The valve assembly is held in by one screw. With the valve assembly loose, unplug the electrical connections and remove the water fill line. Swap in the new one and done. 

Replaced debris clogged water inlet valve 

Reviewed the problems on AppliancePartsPro’s website, and found out that the most likely cause of limited, to no Cold water was the Hot/Cold water inlet valve. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and it was here in 2 days. I followed the repair video provided by APP and it made the process go smoother.
