How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094570 / 285868 Washer Filter Plug Kit

Ordered the bolt and washer set up and while in there replaced the rubber filter things in the bottom(of which my washer had only one) but now has the two required. This fix took maybe 10 - 15 minutes. Real easy. 

Replaced the transmission, and pump. Then gave everything a good cleaning. 

Found a fabulous YouTube video specifically addressing my problem, from AppliancePartsPros.com that clearly showed how to make the repair - 4 lint filter plugs below the agitator. There was even a link to the needed parts. I ordered them, received them in 4 days, installed the filter plugs per the video and VOILA - problem solved! Simple, easy fix. Great experience. 

I replaced the gear box it was under warranty also put a few parts in that needed to be replace the ring-wire spin tube bearing and the washer filter plug kit went smooth and no problems just watch the videos for parts you want to replace very happy with this program 

Replaced entire upper and lower agitator assembly. 

I watched a very informative video on your web site. I then ordered and installed new Agitator dogs in the assembly. It worked beautifully afterwards. Great videos on your website. Thank you from a DIY'er. 

Replaced the lower Tub Suspension Pads. I also learned how easy it was to remove the case, Took the time to thoroughly clean all parts of the machine and lubed the spring mounts. Also replaced the engine coupling since it was crumbling. If your springs are all intact, the shaking is most likely those pads. Also adjust the feet with a level, sometimes the rear automatic feet need some help. This washer is 25 years old and still runs great! 

We replaced the Cam Agitator, Spacer Washer, and Motor Coupling. We watched the videos, and easily completed the repairs. It took us a couple of hours because we aren't as quick as the videos, plus we ended up taking more of the washing machine apart to clean areas that we normally can't access. 

I bought the washer filter plug kit, agitator dogs, & a heating element for the dryer. I watched several different videos from off the site & youtube videos to make sure I knew exactly what I was doing. I put on the heating element first, worked perfectly. I put on two of the washer filter plugs, put a load in & at the end of the load, the washer filter plugs came out because the holes were a little longer than the product. I waited till I got the agitator dogs, put those in, I used Contact Cement (all I had at the time) on the filter plugs to seal them in. That fixed all the problems I had before. I put a load in, the agitator did spin to wash the clothes, but it did not spin to drain the washer, just the holes drained the washer, but clothes were soaking wet. I looked on youtube & tried to reset it, but I didn't have a magnet on mines (just a hole there), so I left it unplugged for the night. Next day it must have reset, because it started spinning again. So overall, I'm satisfied with the parts & shipping. Thank You
