How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5263471 / W10408179 Water Inlet Valve

Bought a house where the previous owner removed the water filter components from the 15 year old Whirlpool refrigerator and I found the water supply to be shut off. I researched which parts would be needed to get the water/ice functioning again with the help of online chat and problem-solving (different sized water lines and connectors needed to bypass the water filter). When the parts arrived, I watched the video tutorial and it was an easy fix--less than 1/2 hour. The water and ice making functions works great now and no leaks! 

I ordered the icemaker assembly, Water Filter, and Water Inlet valve assembly from Appliance Pros. Got everything in just a couple of days. Watched excellent Appliance Pro videos. Replaced filter and the icemaker assembly. Had ice pumping out in about an hour or so. Did not replace the Inlet valve but I have it in case that becomes an issue later. Fast shipping and excellent how-to videos made this repair easy. 

The cold water line would drip after dispensing water. Sometimes it would be a few drops but other times it would continue for minutes to an hour or more. After researching, it seemed the most recommended solution was replacing the water inlet value. I watched the video offered by the supplier and found it very helpful. After receiving the part, I installed it in less than 30 minutes and verified that the issue was fixed. It has only been a few hours so time will tell. I am hoping for years of no leaking. 

Replaced the WHIRLPOOL Water Inlet Valve. 

By replacing some hard plastic bushings or 'cams' in the door hinges, Top and bottom one.
