When we had an ice bucket fill with water and freeze into an entire block of ice we knew we had a problem. Once we chiseled out the block of ice and returned the bucket, the ice maker just stared at us and did nothing. No water was coming out. After some googling and watching vids I learned that I should test the water inlet valve for continuity. After learning what a water inlet does and where it was located, I disconnected power to the refrigerator and removed the water inlet valve. Damn, no continuity. Bad valve. After speaking to an online agent through the chat line, I was able to confirm the correct part and placed an order. It arrived in 2 days. I was sitting on the front porch when FedEx dropped it off. Within 30 minutes I had the part replaced and water was filling the ice maker. I went back out to the porch and finished my drink with a good book. (I actually was surfing the web... watching dog vids) A couple of hours later I heard the joyful sound of 8 ice cubes being dumped into the ice bucket. Success! Can't wait for the next appliance to require a new part! Thanks for all the help Appliance Parts Pros!!! I suspect I'll be back soon.
