How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010602 / WP694089 Blower Wheel

I replaced the drive motor and the fan wheel, it was very easy to do thanks to the video provided by AppliancePartsPro. You should consider getting the blower wheel at the same time as the motor because the old one will be brittle and brake very easily. 

IT WORKS! I FIXED IT. THANKS FOR THE PARTS. I REPLACED ALL THE FUESES AND THE MOTOR AND THE START SWITCH AND THE TIMER. 

Repairman advised that motor was probably going (dryer was 19 years old) and not worth fixing. I purchased a new motor and belt. All went well until I tried to remove the blower wheel from the old motor. I know it was a reverse thread but it was stuck tight and eventually the plastic nut rounded off and finally broke. So I chiseled off the old wheel and ordered a new one. In the process of removing the blower wheel I also saw that the blower seal was perished so ordered one of those as well. Besides trying to remove the fused blower wheel, it was a straightforward repair. Hoping to get a few more years out of the dryer.

After reading all the trouble shooting topics and chatting with the online AppliancePartsPros, I determined that I needed a new motor. I watched the video on the motor replacement and did the removal prior to ordering the parts. I discovered during the disassembly that one of the drum rollers was no longer turning (maybe what killed the motor). I also found that my blower wheel was stuck on my motor shaft and had to be chiseled off as shown at the end of the video. I was glad that I had done the removal first, as now I had additional parts to order. I placed my order on Sunday night, paid the additional shipping for overnight delivery, and had a running dryer by Tuesday evening. The videos were spot on and very helpful in each stage of the repair. The help of the online service was also very good. With these positives I didn't feel too bad about paying $35 more for the motor than I had found it for on other web sites. We are happy to have clean and dry clothes again! 

I replaced the drive motor. I had to replace the blower wheel because I had to break the other blow wheel to get the drive motor out.
