I consulted the APP website, and ordered the defrost heater, defrost thermostat and a new temp sensor. After unplugging the frig for a couple of days, the frost was all melted, and the repair was easy and uneventful. The jury is still out as to whether that procedure will correct the problem. I will let it run for a few days and check it again. Plan B will be a rebuilt control board
