The fill tube that discharges into the ice maker would periodically freeze up and become blocked with ice, particularly if the ice bin was full so the ice maker was not cycling. This caused water to run down inside the refrigerator and pool on the floor. The problem was a leaking water fill valve, which trickled water all the time. Once I identified the problem and the cause, replacing the water fill valve was a quick project. I had to cut off the end of the 1/4" diameter tubing that ran up the back of the refrigerator to get a fresh area to push into the valve. The replacement valve has a compression fitting whereas the original valve had a threaded fitting.
