After disconnecting the control panel and moving it out of the way, the housing of the washer comes off easily. Absolutely have several towels ready when disconnecting the hoses. One hose was holding more water than a single large towel could hold. Swapping out the water pump was very easy.
Since our unit is about 6 years old, I took the time to clean things up a bit and checked for any loose bolts and screws. Cleaning took more time than anything.
Once complete, we are convinced the washing machine operates much more quietly and with less rattles. Of course, the screaming is now gone too!
