My icemaker was functioning but the ice tray was not emptying. Water dispensed on top of the frozen cubes and spilling over into the bucket and freezing into a solid block of ice.
I watched a you tube video and learned how to remove the motor, tray and disconnect the sensor. The video explained how the tray needs tension to empty the ice cubes into the bucket. If there is a crack in the tray at its vulnerable area the tension is gone. The water dispenses and the tray rotates but the cubes do not empty into the bucket.
I ordered the correct tray (be careful there are two sizes) and it was delivered in 2 days. I watched the video again to learn how to connect the sensor to the tray and how to correctly mount the ice maker into the freezer and reset the icemaker. Works better than when I inherited the Samsung refrigerator. Tah dah! Girl power! :)
