When the glass lid broke at the hinge, I immediately thought I was looking at an expensive replacement lid. When checking the internet, I discovered that this was a huge complaint for this washer, but that someone had actually found a solid lid replacement from another model machine from Whirlpool. I decided that ordering the solid lid was the more practical decision than buying a new machine. I ordered the lid from appliancepartspros.com. Taking the original glass lid required me to use WD-40 and a torx screwdriver to remove the old screws and lift off the lid. Putting the new lid on was a breeze, using just a phillips head screwdriver. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. LOVE my new lid!!!!
