The hardest part about this was finding the correct part. For some reason, our ten-year-old Maytag refrigerator doesn't exist in any parts database! The refrigerator is a MFI2269VEM0. I ordered the part for a VEM1, but as soon as I got it it was clearly the wrong size. I placed a call to appliancepartspros.com and Sherry immediately answered, and was super helpful! Although the fridge didn't exist in her system, she called some contacts and was sure this part would fit. She was right! Perfect fit and an incredibly easy repair. By the way, I also called Maytag to figure out the whole model number issue. I was transferred around and put on hold for over an hour at which point I gave up. The MFI2269VEM0 model number will remain a mystery.
