- opened dryer door and removed (pry up)the 2 plastic pieces that secure ends of cables in the door
- remove lint filter
- put some cloth into lint filter to keep screws from falling in
- took out the two screws that secured the lint filter to dryer top
- pried the top up at front of dryer
- used 2 pieces of wood to hold the top up about 10 inches.
- taped paper envelopes below the 2 screws securing the front to frame, in case i dropped a screw.
- removed the 2 screws securing the dryer front to the frame
- pull the dryer front panel forward a few inches
- slide rectangular end of cable through hole from inside front panel
- put the rectangular end into slot on dryer door and replace the plastic piece
- make sure the cable is running though slot of plastic block that is immediately over the hole
- connect end of cable to spring.
- reattach front to frame, remove paper,.
- lower top, reattach linter filer to top
- remove the cloth
