We bought our LG front load washer (LG WM2487HRM) in 2007, and last week (8 years later) the water was not draining and there was a clicking sound. I shut the machine off and drained it manually using the little drain plug/tube (bottom left corner). I then checked the pump filter (accessible from the panel on the front bottom left), but didn't find any obstructions. After reading several reviews here, I concluded it was probably the drain pump motor and ordered that part. I watched the video, and recruited my husband's help to tackle the repair last night. I had read about some people doing this repair by first re-installing the shipping bolts and then tilting the machine back or laying it on its side to access the drain pump motor from the bottom, but our washing machine is on a pedestal so we would have had to unbolt it from the pedestal, move it to the ground (in a cramped laundry room) and then attempt the repair ... so we decided it was better to follow the instructions to remove the top/front panels and access it that way. The video was amazing - step by step - and worked flawlessly. We had a laptop set up in the laundry room and would just keep pausing the video as we worked. We had a couple of difficult nut screws on the front panel to remove which required the socket set, but other than that the repair was relatively easy. My husband was able to use pliers to re-install the spring coil around the door gasket (I had considered buying the special tool, but it was not necessary). I didn't time it exactly but the whole repair probably took us 1-1.5 hours. The real test was a load of laundry - and I am happy to say my machine is working perfectly again! So, for around $60 we were able to fix it ourselves = very happy!!! Shipping was super fast - the part arrived 1 day after I ordered it online - and the video tutorial was a real lifesaver.
