Dan C Franklin , WI October 23, 2015 Cracked outer glass on kitchen aid oven Originally the handle came undone and tried to repair that. In the process of tightening the screws and moving the outside door, the glass cracked into a billion pieces. Note to anyone else....don't over tighten the handle screws. Fully removed the door and scraped all of the glass shards away. Ordered the replacement glass which came in 2 days. I used some high heat fire block caulk the corners as the adhesive that held the glass previously was not as sticky. Let it sit for 24 hours and proceeded to reassemble the glass and handle to the door plate, then placed that back onto the larger piece of the oven door. Tighten the screws and placed it back onto the oven. Looks good as new. Probably saved close to $200 plus the cost of the glass doing it myself. 5 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
