A new dispenser control board did the trick! Repair was pretty easy, once I figured out how to release the four tabs holding the panel to the freezer door. Once the single philips screw under the panel was removed, a twist of a screwdriver in the two holes on the underside of the panel easily released the two lower retainers, and some gentle wiggling caused the two upper tabs to release. Gently unplug the two molex connectors, and you're done.
Remove three phillips screws to remove the inside cover and access the pc board. Remember to remove the black "sticker" label from the old board (a heat gun or hairdryer helps with this!) and re-position onto the new pc board. Reverse the disassembly process, and you're good to go. About 15 - 20 minutes overall!
