The drain solenoid was stuck, keeping the drain always open. A worn-out shaft seal was causing a small leak, with water dripping onto the top of the solenoid which resulted in it rusting and freezing/stuck. I replaced the shaft seal, working through the front panel, and also rehabilitated the solenoid by pulling out the metal shaft and sanding the rust off of it. Once put back together, the dishwasher worked like a charm. I think I saved quite a bit of time by working through the front panel rather than pulling the dishwasher out of the cabinet. I only had to detach the door springs to give more work access - which was not a big deal. The video is great and right-on the money.
