After reading a few articles on troubleshooting....I pulled out the dishwasher enough to get to the door springs. I noted the springs were intact, so I moved the spring into a different hole position, which helped only to a minimum. I decided to install new friction pads since the one I had was broke, and the other was missing. And to my suprise, the door now works perfectly! 2 tiny little black bushings solved the problem. Friction pad to the rescue.
