After troubleshooting, found that there was a huge crack in the center of the spray arm/a piece missing from it. You can find a video that shows you how to remove the spray arm on youtube, it is held in by a plastic latch. All you need is a flathead screwdriver, but be careful, a lot of people report snapping the latch off accidentally because it is tricky to find. The video was super helpful. Ordered this part and it snapped right in. Voila! Clean dishes!
