I have several rental properties with the same dishwasher and we've seen the same issue multiple times. I assumed without turning the machine on because the gasket and guards were the easy and least expensive fix, and were broken/aged. If that didn't fix it, it's a 14-year-old economy dishwasher, I'd replace it rather than send a technician out at $100/hr and they wouldn't be able to order parts or fix it, charge me $250, waste everyone's time, and not get the job done, and they'd try to tell me I need a new dishwasher (because of a gasket...) The broken splash guards and the gasket installed easily, and took care of the leak! And I saved myself $200... for now... The motor wasn't sounding so great.) But for now, the tenants can wash their dishes without getting their socks wet. I'll call it a win!
