Pull the washing machine away from the wall about 12". Unplug the machine, but leave the water hoses and drain pipe in place. Remove the two screws on the back of the machine that hold the top of the machine in place. Once removed the top slides toward the back of the machine about 2" and then it can be lifted off of the machine. Open the door to the machine and remove the three screws that hold the door latch assembly in place. Reach inside the machine and remove the plastic cover from the door latch assembly. Then remove the 3 wiring harness connectors. Now the assembly can be removed. To install the new assembly just reverse the process.
