My fridge was 11 years old and my left side door seal was torn on the bottom and some pieces of the flat magnet from inside the seal had broken off and fallen out. It seemed like the compressor was running more than it should so I assumed the seals were probably leaking badly. I also had a problem with the door open alarm beeping randomly while the doors were closed. Just a short beep and sometimes a different beeping sound. Elsewhere I read that this could be a door seal problem. The new door seals were very easy to replace and I already had replaced my french assembly and knew how to take it off already. This is also easy, just a couple of screws after you take their covers off. Now the doors feel much different, more secure when they close. This did not fix my beeping problem but I now think it's a problem with the icemaker on/off control because it makes the same beep as do some of the other controls when you push them. Could be that the switch is dirty inside because I noticed the icon for the icemaker turns off and on randomly. For now I put some ductseal around the beeper on the circuit board to make it quieter. Everything seems to be working so for this old fridge I'm just going to live with the occasional beeps or maybe desolder the beeper from the circuit board to silence it completely.
