I found a posting online for someone who had replaced a burner for the range same model, which required almost the same disassembly procedure as replacing the cooktop assembly itself. His step-by-step instructions were extremely helpful, however there were a few 'surprises' along the way. I did the entire job in about 2 hours by myself, but having a second pair of hands would have made the job easier, as lining up the screw holes for the cooktop assembly with the burner box, while maintaining the proper location for all of the connected wires was tricky. I also replaced a burned-out burner element during this job, which had been out for almost 4 years but I never got around to replacing it before now. After reassembly, everything worked as it should and I'm sure I saved lots of $$$ on what a house call from a tech would have cost. Make sure you organize the parts during disassembly so that reassembly is straight forward.
