The inside drum of our Kenmore washer was off balance and banging when spinning. I could not get the outside of the washer off, so put it on its side and approached the mechanism from underneath. The old counterbalance suspension spring had rusted. Needed to drill a new hole on side of the base. Thankfully easy and working fine.
