I thought the seals were the root cause but the problem ended up being lint in the long dryer vent. There are very limited troubleshooting steps for a gas dryer but a plethora of troubleshooting for electric dryers. I ended up purchasing a dryer vent cleaner from a local building supply company and that seems to have solved the issue. The videos from AppliancePartsPros.com were great at replacing these parts.
