This Samsung Dryer has broken before It's only 8 years old and this is the second time it's let me down. The first time it started making a screeching sound but it still worked. When I couldn't stand the noise I decided to take it apart and see what was wrong. It took me a while to figure it out after all the rollers all seemed fine. Then I saw the real problem and couldn't believe it. The rubber bushing on the motor (where the belt hooks onto) was coming apart. I ended up having to replace the whole motor because that part wasn't replaceable. Only cost 80.00 from AppliancePartPros and I was back in business.
Less than a year later, I take a load out of the dryer and its still wet! After checking the website for possible problems I order a few items including the heating element. Since I've taken the dryer apart before it was pretty easy getting to the housing for the element but really, SEVEN screws??!! Do they do that on purpose to tick you off? Anyway, after inspection, it indeed was the element so I put the new one in. That moment when you push the on the button and wait for the result....it works! Considering how much this dryer breaks, I'll be a customer forever!
