I tried many things. First, I bought the dryer thermal cutoff kit, and replaced the thermal cut-off and hi-limit thermostat. I also thoroughly vacuumed out the dryer and cleaned the vent. When this didn't work, I replaced the housing foam seal and lint screen housing foam seal. That didn't work, either. Then I read that if you turn the circuit breaker off and on, that sometimes fixes the issue. I turned it off and on, and it finally worked. Now the dryer runs properly. No overheating. With all the replaced items, it should run with no problem for many years to come.
