UNPLUGGED dryer, removed vent duct and opened back cover using nut driver. (Plenty of "how to" videos available online.) Plan was to ohm out thermostat and heating element first and go from there. Removed heating element assembly and problem was immediately evident. One of the coils on the heating element was open (broken). Researched parts online and found Appliance Parts Pros to have the best prices. Ordered new heating element Tuesday night. Thursday afternoon the part was on my doorstep! Part was identical to what was in my dryer. Removed thermostat and three wires from old heating element assembly using nut driver and needle nose pliers and transferred same to the new unit. Reinstalled assembly, replaced cover & vent duct and powered up dryer. Good as new! Would not hesitate to order parts from AppliancePartsPros.com again. Total cost including shipping was significantly less than the nearest "big box" store.
